A Birthday fit for a Queen

December 17th saw fresh snow on the grounds of Noel Miller's mansion, the trees were white like iced cakes and the mansion was more like a glistening castle of ice. Inside, Noel sat in her study, absentmindedly rifting through papers when a light knock came from the door.

"Come in." The Queen of the Pure-blood vampires said as she sat straight in her chair, the door opened, and in walked Cassie Williams, Noel's fox-demon "sister" and loyal friend, "Hello onee-chan." Noel greeted, "Hi Onee-sama." Cassie said excitedly, her emerald eyes shimmered with happiness and her very aura gave off a sense of excitement. "What's with the smile sis?" Noel asked smiling slightly at her "Fox" "You'll see tonight." Cassie crowd as she left a card on Noel's desk and skipped out of the study in the direction of her room, Noel looked at the card and opened it: "Come to the dining room at 6." It was simple, plain, straight to the point. "Guess I should see about this" Noel said to herself smiling.

At  6 o'clock Noel, dressed in a silk blood-red evening gown, walked down the stairs to the dining room with Sebastian at her side, he opened the door for her and she stepped inside…

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

The lights came on and Noel saw Cassie and her entire family there, her dear friend Michael was there as well, "Oh my…" was all Noel could say as she took in the beautifully decorated room, the entire place looked like some sort of sweet dreamland, frosted tea cakes, petite fours, and other candies were set around the table and in pride of place a large vanilla cake with pink icing spelling out HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOEL in curvy writing. "Cassie onee-san thought of this for three whole weeks!" squealed Cassie's mage-brother Amberos, "We had a hard time keeping it quite, but we did" Alana spoke in her soft voice. After the presents from the older and youngest Williams had been opened, Noel waited patiently for Cassie's present, suddenly a grand piano's melody sounded and a spotlight revealed Marcus playing an elaborate version of "Happy Birthday" on it, Cassie's soft voice sang out the verses and Noel felt tears form in her blue eyes, when the song ended, Cassie came up and hugged her sister, "Happy Birthday, my vampire sister." she said softly. Noel closed her eyes and smiled like a china-doll. "Truly, this is a party fit for a Queen." she said as she hugged Cassie back.
