Sleep My Angel

Cassie had had a long day at her job at a supercenter store, 75% of the customers had been horrid to her, her supervisor had yelled at her for a stupid reason (because of what one of the evil customers had said) and her feet were tired, she walked in the door of the modest home she shared with her husband Jamie Robertson and their 7 year old daughter Carina to find her husband on the couch reading a book. Jamie looked up to see his wife and noticed she appeared to be in some emotional and physical pain, he put his book on the side table and motioned for her to sit beside him on the comfy sofa.
“Rough day at work, Love?” he asked softly as his wife sat down with a tired sigh, Cassie nodded and told him all the things that had worn her out, by the time she finished her tale, Jamie was smiling sympathetically at her.
“It’ll be alright my beloved, Carina and I know how hard you’re trying at that awful place. I’ll tell you what, on Monday night, Carina can stay the night at Elena’s house so on Tuesday you can take it easy and rest while I pamper you. How’s that sound?” Cassie’s face lit up into a small smile, Jamie knew just how to make her feel better, plus, the prospect of sleeping in and being pampered by her husband was so perfect. “Alright.” She agreed softly as she laid her head on Jamie’s lap and closed her eyes. Within 20 minutes she was asleep, Jamie smiled softly and began to lightly stroke her hair, his wife was long overdue for some time to herself and perhaps it was fate that she would have three days off coming next week. He was going to pamper her so much on Tuesday that she’d feel like royalty. With that thought in mind he leaned down slightly and kissed her head.

“Sleep well my Queen, in four days, things will be all better.”
